Intermediate to Senior Controls Technician
Job Description:
● Provide technical assistance in the development and execution of automation and/or controls solutions.
● Provide design services using automated CAD software.
● Provide programming services including PLC, HMI and robotics.
● Liaise with customers for complete project life cycles from inception to buy-off.
● Provide assistance on administrative tasks including reporting.
● On site commissioning and testing.
● Equipment maintenance.
● Fault diagnostics including troubleshooting wiring, hardware, sensors.
● Provide technical assistance in the completion of equipment surveys using airborne ultrasound inspection and other inspection services.
● Provide technical assistance in the completion of equipment surveys using thermal imaging (infrared inspection) and other inspection services.
Qualifications:
● Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
● Systems integration experience is preferred over manufacturing experience.
● Project management experience including resource scheduling, budgeting, customer relations.
● Must have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
● Organized and methodical thinker.
● Absolutely must be a self-starter, motivated and have the ability to work independently.
● Site commissioning and testing experience.
● Industrial electrical design experience.
● Experience with industrial programming hardware and software.
● Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office software products.
● Must be available to work weekdays and/or weekends from time to time.
● Must have a valid G license.
● Hands on experience would be considered an asset.
● Industrial drafting experience using the following platforms:
○ AutoCAD.
○ AutoCAD Electrical.
○ Solid Works Electrical.
● Preference will be given to those with experience in the following platforms:
○ Allen-Bradley: CLX, CPLX, RSlogix5000, Factory Talk Studio
○ Siemens: Step 7, TIA Portal
○ Beckhoff: Twincat3
● Proficient with the following industrial programming languages:
○ Ladder
○ STL
● The following languages will be considered an asset:
○ Visual Studio languages (VB, C++)
○ HTML5
○ JavaScript
● Skills in the following areas will be considered an asset:
○ Relational and object oriented databases
○ SQL scripting
